As an EVM network in the Cosmos ecosystem, Evmos is one of the most关注的 projects in the industry recently.

Organizer: Hu Tao, Chain Catcher

As an EVM network in the Cosmos ecosystem, Evmos is one of the most talked-about projects recently. It will enable seamless interaction between users and developers across chains through IBC with the Ethereum mainnet, EVM-compatible environments, and other BFT chains. Evmos aims to become the EVM hub of Cosmos, making the deployment and communication of smart contracts within the Cosmos ecosystem easier.
After multiple announcements regarding the mainnet launch date, Evmos officially launched its mainnet today and initiated an airdrop. Currently, several well-known crypto projects have announced their support for this network, and native applications in areas such as DEX and lending have already emerged, indicating that many popular projects will arise from this ecosystem.
To help everyone further understand the current development status of the Evmos ecosystem, Chain Catcher will provide a comprehensive overview and introduction to the current Evmos ecosystem projects in this article.
1. Native Applications:
Kinesis
Kinesis is a stablecoin trading protocol built on Evmos, allowing users to exchange stablecoins with minimal fees and slippage. Kinesis not only plans to become the preferred destination for stablecoin trading on Cosmos but also aims to actively promote the introduction of stablecoins into Cosmos.
Kinesis Labs plans to actively collaborate with popular stablecoin protocols (such as Abracadabra, Alchemix, Fei, and Frax) and participate in governance to bring all EVM stablecoins into Cosmos. The project will also work closely with stablecoin issuers to ensure sufficient liquidity for stablecoins.

2. Announced Integrated Applications
Frax
Frax is the first partially algorithmic stablecoin protocol. Frax is open-source, permissionless, and fully on-chain—currently implemented on Ethereum and other chains. The ultimate goal of the Frax protocol is to provide a highly scalable, decentralized algorithmic currency to replace fixed-supply digital assets like BTC.
In mid-February, Frax Finance announced it would deploy the FRAX stablecoin on Evmos. After deployment, developers and end-users will be able to utilize FRAX when building and using DeFi protocols on Evmos. Users can also send FRAX and FXS (Frax's value appreciation and governance token) throughout the Cosmos ecosystem via IBC. Thus, users can interact with DeFi protocols on other Cosmos-based chains using FRAX.
Aave v3
In early February, Evmos proposed deploying Aave v3 on the Evmos blockchain to expand lending to Evmos and the larger Cosmos ecosystem. Evmos will also enable cross-chain applications to leverage AAVE's liquidity while deploying to other Cosmos chains like Terra. This proposal has been approved by the Aave community vote.
dForce
In early March, the DeFi protocol dForce announced that its full suite of DeFi products is about to launch on the Cosmos EVM Hub Evmos, including lending protocols, decentralized stablecoin USX, cross-chain bridge dForce Bridge, and more.
SpaceFi
SpaceFi is a community-driven DEX that includes Farm, NFT, Starter, and DAO, which previously launched testnet 1.0 on the Celo public chain for nearly a month. In late February, the project announced it would launch testnet 2.0 on Evmos and Celo.
Thorus
Thorus is a multi-chain DeFi platform built on Avalanche and Moonbeam, currently with a total TVL of $7.3 million, recently announcing its integration with Evmos.
3. Various Infrastructures
Nomad and Connext
Nomad is a novel interoperability protocol designed to reduce costs and enhance the security of cross-chain messaging. Unlike validator-based cross-chain bridges, Nomad does not rely on a large number of external parties to validate cross-chain communication but instead utilizes an optimistic mechanism that allows users to securely send messages and bridge assets, ensuring that anyone observing can flag fraud and protect the system. The main trade-off of Nomad is the introduction of a dispute window to resolve fraud proofs.
The Connext solution allows users to quickly and cheaply transfer small to large amounts of value across chains. This solution is designed for high-frequency transfers and works by utilizing liquidity pools provided by routers on the sending and receiving chains, moving between L2 or other systems without touching Ethereum L1 and without introducing any new trust assumptions.
In January of this year, Evmos announced that Nomad and Connext would deploy their bridging solutions to Evmos. With Nomad and Connext, institutions and end-users will be able to send value and call data between the Ethereum and Evmos ecosystems. This will allow ERC-20 tokens from Ethereum and other EVM chains to be available on Evmos and subsequently accessible throughout the Cosmos ecosystem via IBC.
Celer Network
Celer Network's cBridge is one of the leading multi-chain bridges in DeFi, with a total locked value exceeding $400 million. In early March, the project stated that cBridge would deploy on the Evmos mainnet, allowing anyone to connect assets like USDC and USDT to Evmos and the entire Cosmos ecosystem.
UMA
UMA is an optimistic oracle that uses economic guarantees to protect markets. Unlike mechanically constrained price feed oracles, optimistic oracles can service any data on-chain. UMA's flexible oracles provide data for cross-chain bridges, insurance, custom derivatives, and prediction markets.
In January of this year, Evmos stated that UMA would provide decentralized and battle-tested optimistic oracles for Evmos developers, allowing developers to build a range of decentralized financial applications using UMA's optimistic oracle.
Pocket Network
Pocket Network is an RPC relay protocol that incentivizes full node operators to provide accurate data and rich bandwidth for decentralized applications. More than 20 blockchains, including Ethereum, Polygon, Solana, and Harmony, utilize Pocket Network's decentralized infrastructure.
In December 2021, Evmos announced a partnership with Pocket Network to provide Evmos developers with the necessary decentralized node infrastructure to deploy their decentralized applications on the first EVM-compatible Cosmos blockchain.
Covalent
Covalent is an industry-leading blockchain indexer that allows developers to access the most detailed blockchain data on the market through its unified API. Developers have the unique ability to quickly build dApps using rich, well-structured data across all supported blockchains with a single API call.
In December 2021, Evmos announced its integration with Covalent, providing Evmos developers and end-users with a unified API that can access indexed data across multiple leading blockchains, enabling developers to quickly and consistently access indexed blockchain data to develop and deploy complex decentralized applications on the Evmos blockchain.
Blockdaemon
Blockdaemon connects enterprises to blockchains and is a leading global blockchain infrastructure provider. Their clients include major exchanges, custodians, and financial institutions.
In December 2021, Evmos stated that Blockdaemon would provide reliable, secure, and high-availability (HA) RPC clusters and node infrastructure platforms for Evmos, allowing Evmos token holders to easily run their own validator nodes.
KYVE
KYVE is a next-generation protocol that enables data providers to standardize, validate, and permanently store data streams. By leveraging Arweave, this solution ensures the scalability, immutability, and availability of these resources over time, and by using Moonbeam smart contracts, KYVE is EVM-compatible.
In late December 2021, KYVE was integrating Evmos into the KYVE network for decentralized blockchain data streams. KYVE will help reliably and accurately store blockchain data from the Evmos blockchain. The Evmos community will be able to utilize this data to build and deploy complex applications on the Evmos blockchain.
