The Australian Federal Police has established a new department to combat cryptocurrency-related crimes
Chain Catcher News, the Australian Federal Police (AFP) has established a new department dedicated to combating crimes related to cryptocurrency. Stefan Jerga, an official responsible for seizing criminal assets, claimed that the number of crimes associated with cryptocurrency has significantly increased, prompting the AFP to form a specialized task force.
It is reported that in August, Australia seized millions of dollars worth of cryptocurrency and other assets in Canberra following an investigation into a major money laundering case. So far, the AFP has seized $35 million worth of boats, aircraft, artworks, and cryptocurrency. (Source link)
