A U.S. judge denied the motion by OpenSea's former product manager to remove the term "insider trading" from the lawsuit
ChainCatcher news, a judge in the Southern District of New York has denied former OpenSea product manager Nathaniel Chastain's motion to remove the term "insider trading" from the indictment.
Previously, Chastain was accused of using OpenSea's confidential information to secretly purchase NFTs and sell them for profit. The DOJ believes that while the alleged activities are similar to insider trading violations in securities, due to uncertainty over whether NFTs constitute securities, the U.S. Department of Justice has brought wire fraud charges against him.
