EU Commissioner: CBDC may require international transaction networks to prevent infringement on the sovereignty of other countries

ChainCatcher news, EU Commissioner Paolo Gentiloni stated that central bank digital currencies (CBDCs) may require an international transaction network to prevent state-sponsored funds from infringing on the sovereignty of other countries. Currently, the EU is considering the design of a digital euro, but issues such as how the digital euro will be used for cross-border payments need to be addressed. (CoinDesk)
