OpenSea prohibits NFT creators and collectors from Cuba from accessing its platform to comply with U.S. sanctions laws

ChainCatcher news, according to Artnet, the NFT marketplace OpenSea is blocking access to its platform for Cuban NFT artists and collectors to comply with U.S. sanctions laws. An OpenSea spokesperson stated that OpenSea complies with U.S. sanctions laws, and its terms of service explicitly prohibit sanctioned individuals, individuals within sanctioned jurisdictions, or services from using OpenSea.

So far, more than 30 Cuban artists have had their OpenSea accounts delisted, and the Miami-based NFTcuba.ART has also been systematically blocked. Affected Cuban NFT artist Gabriel Bianchini stated that in the face of OpenSea's crackdown, artists are expected to turn to other NFT platforms such as Foundation or SuperRare. (source link)
