In 2022, the total trading volume of stablecoins reached a historic high of $7.4 trillion

ChainCatcher news, data from the cryptocurrency analytics company Coin Metrics shows that the total trading volume of Stablecoins has reached approximately $7.4 trillion this year, breaking the previous record of $6 trillion set in 2021. Among them, the total trading volume of USDT has decreased to around $3.5 trillion this year after peaking at $3.7 trillion last year. USDC ranked second in 2022 with approximately $2.9 trillion, more than double the settlement amount in 2021.

In addition, the transaction volume on the Mastercard network in 2022 was $2.2 trillion, American Express was about $1 trillion, and Visa was the only major credit card provider processing a volume exceeding that of Stablecoins, at approximately $12 trillion. (source link)
