Report: In 2022, the U.S. SEC conducted a total of 30 cryptocurrency enforcement actions, a 50% increase compared to 2021

ChainCatcher message, according to a new report by consulting firm Cornerstone Research, the number of crypto-related enforcement actions initiated by the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) reached a record high of 30 last year, a 50% increase from 2021. The firm found that the most common charges were fraud and unregistered securities. Of these 30 enforcement actions, 70% involved fraud, 73% involved unregistered securities offerings, and 50% involved both. Additionally, the report shows that in 127 enforcement actions from 2013 to 2022, the SEC received assistance from external agencies and organizations in 56 of those actions. (The Block)
