The TON validators will vote to decide to freeze 195 inactive addresses holding 1 billion TON
ChainCatcher news, TON validators are considering temporarily freezing 195 inactive addresses, with voting set to begin on February 21. Currently, these addresses hold 1 billion TON, accounting for 21.3% of the total supply, approximately worth 2.5 billion USD. If the vote passes, the affected addresses will be unable to make any transactions for 4 years.
Inactive addresses refer to those that participated in the initial distribution phase between July 2020 and June 2022 and have never conducted any outgoing transactions. These addresses can perform any transactions before the voting ends to avoid being temporarily frozen. (The Block)
