The Argentine National Securities Commission will formulate relevant regulations that cryptocurrency companies should follow
ChainCatcher news, according to CoinDesk, the Argentine National Securities Commission (CNV) will formulate and regulate the requirements and rules that crypto companies in the country must follow. The anti-money laundering law reform currently being discussed in the Argentine Congress explicitly defines the CNV's jurisdiction over virtual asset service providers. If the law is passed, the CNV plans to consult all participants in the crypto ecosystem operating in Argentina to seek their opinions when formulating regulations.
According to the bill, the requirements that crypto companies must comply with include user protection, the security and efficiency of operational development, the safety of public savings, and the prevention of money laundering, among others. Additionally, the CNV stated that the main reason for imposing new requirements on crypto companies is to comply with the international standards set by the Financial Action Task Force, which will conduct a corresponding assessment in Argentina in 2024.
