Coinbase CEO: Stopping the development of ChatGPT is a "bad idea"

ChainCatcher news, Coinbase co-founder and CEO Brian Armstrong believes that pausing the training of AI systems more powerful than ChatGPT-4 "is a bad idea," stating that there are no "experts" to adjudicate this issue, and that "committees and bureaucracies won't solve any problems. Like many technologies, there are dangers, but we should continue to move forward because the benefits outweigh the risks. A market of ideas will yield better results than a groupthink plan. Previously reported, on March 29, Musk and over 1,000 AI experts and industry executives signed an open letter calling for a pause on the training of AI systems more powerful than GPT-4 for at least six months, citing potential risks to society and humanity. The letter stated, "Powerful AI systems should only be developed if we are confident that their effects will be positive and their risks will be manageable."
