The U.S. SEC's crypto crime division will continue to expand its crypto enforcement team

ChainCatcher News, the U.S. SEC's cryptocurrency crime division is seeking to hire a general counsel in New York, San Francisco, and Washington, D.C. According to a job posting, the hire will be responsible for conducting "rapid investigations" into issues related to the securities of crypto assets, with other duties including drafting subpoenas, questioning witnesses, evaluating testimonial evidence, and preparing litigation-related documents.

It is reported that the size of the team has nearly doubled compared to a year ago, and there are plans to expand to 50 employees. According to the SEC, the division has already filed dozens of lawsuits against those looking to defraud cryptocurrency investors. (Source link)
