Neo collaborates with OKX to launch a hackathon in the Asia-Pacific region
On July 5, 2023, Neo announced a collaboration with OKX to launch a new edition of the hackathon in the Asia-Pacific region. This hackathon will take place from July to October, featuring live events in six cities across Asia. Additionally, the organizers will host a series of online meetings to support those who may not be able to participate in person, ensuring that all interested parties have the opportunity to get involved. The Neo Foundation is providing a total prize pool of $120,000 for this hackathon, with a post-hackathon funding of $1 million.
Participants in this year's hackathon can explore five categories: decentralized finance and payments; NFTs and gaming; AI, social, and DAOs; infrastructure and tools; and integration. The final prize for each category is $10,000, and the list of winners will be announced at the finals in Hong Kong, with prizes awarded in the form of NEO tokens.
In recent years, as new working methods have gained popularity, the world has gradually recognized the value of Web3. The hosting of this hackathon is a response to the integration of the digital and physical worlds. Moving forward, OKX and Neo will work together to maximize their influence and participation across the Asia-Pacific region. Notably, team registrations for this hackathon will be open from July 5 to September 24, with project submissions accepted from July 22 to September 24. The organizers will announce the champion team at the celebration in Hong Kong in October.
Neo founder Da Hongfei stated at the launch of the hackathon: "We aim to attract and support the best Web3 talents and startups through this hackathon, while officially showcasing the capabilities that Neo offers to developers. The prize money and grant funds will provide much-needed startup capital for the winning projects, and we hope to provide a platform for outstanding Web3 talents in the Asia-Pacific region to showcase themselves. We look forward to seeing their excellent performances."
The collaboration between OKX and Neo will generate powerful synergies and unleash greater influence. During the collaboration, OKX will empower this hackathon in the form of NFTs. Officials have revealed that teams holding relevant rights NFTs may have the opportunity for direct technical exchanges with the OKX Web3 team and engage in a series of collaborations in the future.
OKX Chief Innovation Officer Jason Lau stated: "We are committed to participating in and promoting the construction of industry infrastructure. Our vision is to improve the industry's development through technological advancement. This collaboration with Neo for the hackathon is a practice of OKX encouraging Web3 innovation, and we look forward to discovering the most promising Web3 innovations in the Asia-Pacific region while enhancing the influence of the developer community there. In the future, OKX will continue to focus on innovation and funding for innovation, working together with builders to create the future of Web3."
