The SEC has awarded over $104 million to 7 whistleblowers, ranking fourth in its whistleblower reward history
ChainCatcher News, the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) announced that it has awarded over $104 million to 7 whistleblowers whose information and assistance led to successful enforcement actions by the SEC and another agency.
This amount ranks fourth in the history of the SEC Whistleblower Program. It is reported that the 7 whistleblowers consist of two groups of joint whistleblowers and three individual whistleblowers. The assistance provided by these 7 individuals included documents that helped enforcement agencies with allegations of misconduct, participating in interviews, and identifying potential witnesses. The information provided by each group of whistleblowers either prompted the SEC to open an investigation or significantly contributed to the SEC's investigation.
