Optimism: Will allocate the initial OP token grant to Base tomorrow

ChainCatcher news, Optimism announced that on August 30, the initial OP token grant will be allocated to the Coinbase L2 network Base, which has been previously communicated as a planned transaction.

ChainCatcher previously reported that Base and Optimism network developers jointly announced a revenue governance sharing agreement. Base will receive "up to approximately 118 million OP tokens," allowing it to have a voice in the governance of Optimism's protocol. The announcement stated that "to maintain balance," this amount will be capped at 9% of the total voting supply.
