ChainCatcher news, according to The Block, after the leak of the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) X account and the issuance of false news approving a Bitcoin spot ETF, Coinbase executives publicly expressed their willingness to help the SEC address the security issues of its social media accounts.

Coinbase Chief Security Officer Philip Martin stated on X: "A serious proposal: as a cryptocurrency exchange, we have extensive experience in social media security protocols. If you need any advice, please feel free to reach out to us."

Coinbase Chief Legal Officer Paul Grewal went further, stating: "The entire Coinbase team is ready to help. We are committed to doing our part to ensure a fair, orderly, and efficient market for all Americans."

Although the SEC is the agency that sued Coinbase, claiming that Coinbase violated securities laws and operated an unregistered exchange, Coinbase still made the offer.
