Paddle Shield: In 2023, the cryptocurrency sector suffered over 600 major hacking attacks, resulting in a loss of $2.61 billion

ChainCatcher news, PeckShield posted on social media that there were over 600 significant hacking incidents in the cryptocurrency sector in 2023, resulting in approximately $2.61 billion in losses, with $674.9 million recovered. Among these: losses due to hacking amounted to $1.51 billion (excluding unauthorized withdrawals from Multichain); losses due to scams totaled $1.1 billion.

It is reported that this data decreased by 27.78% in 2022. However, DeFi protocols remain the primary target, accounting for 67% of the total value stolen.
