Vitalik posted to discuss the reasons people participate in meme coins and expressed hopes for higher quality and interesting projects

ChainCatcher message, Ethereum co-founder Vitalik Buterin stated: In principle, people participate in memecoins because (i) their value may rise, (ii) they feel that memecoins are democratic and open, allowing anyone to participate, and (iii) they are fun. I respect people's desire for fun, and I would rather see the crypto space dance with this trend in some way rather than fight against it. Therefore, I hope to see higher quality interesting projects that make positive contributions to the ecosystem and the world around them (not just "attracting users"). At the very least, there should be more good memecoins than bad ones, and ideally, they should support public goods rather than just benefit insiders and creators.
