Worldcoin will sell 500,000 to 1.5 million WLD weekly for private placement over the next 6 months
ChainCatcher news, according to Cointelegraph, Worldcoin stated in a blog post on April 23 that the Worldcoin Foundation's subsidiary, World Assets, responsible for token issuance, will sell up to 1.5 million WLD per week through a series of "private placements to selected institutional trading firms operating outside the United States," valued at approximately $8.2 million. Worldcoin wrote: "World Assets expects to sell an average of 500,000 to 1.5 million WLD per week. Therefore, the circulating supply of WLD will increase accordingly."
According to data from CoinGecko, the weekly increase of up to 1.5 million WLD tokens over six months equates to an addition of 36 million new tokens to the market, currently valued at about $197 million. Worldcoin noted that it will negotiate with individual trading firms (especially those that compete with each other) to execute the private placements as close as possible to the "current global market price" to help minimize potential price impacts on WLD.
