ChainCatcher news, the NEAR protocol announced that the number of shards in its mainnet has increased from 4 to 6, which upgrades the network's transaction processing capacity by 50%.

It is expected that by the end of Q2 2024, NEAR will also launch the "stateless validation" feature on the mainnet, which is expected to further increase the throughput of each shard by 5 times.
