Democratic lawmakers who voted against the FIT 21 bill lost in the primary elections
ChainCatcher news, according to Fox Business reporter Eleanor Terrett's information shared on X, cryptocurrency critic Jamaal Bowman, who voted against the FIT 21 bill, lost to Westchester County Executive George Latimer in the Democratic primary for New York's 16th district.
The pro-cryptocurrency super PAC Fairshake spent $2 million on ads opposing Bowman last week.
Fairshake spokesperson Josh Vlasto stated, "Jamaal Bowman opposed establishing clear rules for the cryptocurrency and blockchain industry, and now he has to find another way. The cryptocurrency and blockchain community will continue to support candidates who believe in innovation and job creation, working across party lines to get the job done."
