ChainCatcher news, according to TheBlock, a Florida woman has sued Google, accusing it of failing to promptly remove a fraudulent cryptocurrency application "Yobit Pro." The woman claims that she invested over $4.6 million in cryptocurrency through the "Yobit Pro" app between February and July 2023, and by July her account showed a balance of $7 million. However, when she attempted to withdraw funds, the app required her to pay an additional $500,000 "tax." After making the payment, the app then demanded another $2 million.

The woman subsequently contacted the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB), which forwarded the complaint to Google on the same day. However, Google reportedly took three months to remove the application from the Google Play Store. The woman accuses Google of failing to address this fraudulent application in a timely manner, resulting in her losing over $5 million. It is reported that five other users have had similar experiences before.
