CoinGecko: PolitiFi sector tokens outperform Meme coins this year

ChainCatcher news, the cryptocurrency data aggregation platform CoinGecko released a report indicating that from January 1 to August 25, 2024, the PolitiFi (meme related to U.S. election figures) token category increased by 782.4%, outperforming the broader Meme coin category, which rose by 90.2% during the same period.

Although the PolitiFi segment tokens performed better than Meme coins, they still lag far behind the latter. As of August 25, the PolitiFi segment held a market share of 1.5% in the Meme coin category, with a market capitalization of $680.8 million, while the market capitalization of Meme coins was $45.6 billion.
