Collection
The CESS testnet has been updated to version v0.7.8 Venus, the new version of DeShare has been launched, and the new node cluster for DeOSS has been completed.

Image CESS is a decentralized cloud storage network and CD²N network based on blockchain, supporting online data storage and real-time sharing, providing a full-stack solution for the storage and retrieval of high-frequency dynamic data in Web3.

The CESS data value network is a Layer 1 infrastructure built on the DePIN concept, characterized by decentralization, efficiency, security, privacy, and scalability. CESS supports large-scale commercial storage and can accommodate phenomenal decentralized applications (dApps); CESS supports the monetization of data value and the free flow/sharing of data value, while achieving user data privacy protection and data sovereignty returning to data owners in a trustless manner, thereby constructing a prosperous, diverse, and sovereign data asset economy new ecosystem.

Important Submissions, Modifications, Releases

Blockchain Network The CESS testnet has been updated to version v0.7.8-venus, consisting of consensus nodes and storage nodes. Consensus nodes maintain the world state of the CESS network (by CESS Node) and serve as the "data certification station" in the CESS network (by TEE Node). Storage nodes are responsible for providing verifiable storage space and act as the "data storage pool" in the CESS network. Here are the progress updates for this month:

1. Consensus Nodes [v0.7.8-venus]

  • Fixed all warning issues in the new version of the CESS Node codebase;

  • Fixed the issue of missing evm-account-mapping pallet;

  • Fixed the issue that caused the CESS chain to fail to produce blocks due to improper functioning;

  • Upgraded the nodeadm program and its related configuration files;

  • Deployed 10 new CESS Nodes to ensure the stable operation of the testnet;

  • Fixed the naming conflict issue in the CESS Node territory module renaming function due to the lack of uniqueness checks;

  • Reduced the transaction gas fees for CESS Nodes to prevent excessive consumption of account balances due to frequent transaction submissions;

  • Added a function to reduce space declarations to prevent storage nodes from being frozen due to declaring excessive space;

  • Completed the online upgrade of consensus nodes, increasing the random challenge frequency for storage nodes;

  • Optimized the TEE Node management module of consensus nodes, allowing invalid TEE Nodes to be cleaned up in a timely manner;

  • Adjusted the calculation ratio of random challenge rewards, setting idle computing power and active computing power rewards to 5% and 95%, respectively;

2. Storage Nodes [v0.7.13]

  • Completed testing of file upload and download functions based on the territory module for the new version of storage nodes;

  • Fixed the issue where the mineradm multi-node running program could not configure the specified TEE Node;

  • Fixed the issue where storage nodes could not start normally due to SDK version mismatch with the CESS chain;

  • Fixed the issue where Docker images could not be packaged correctly;

  • Fixed the issue where the failure to convert token units led to an inability to effectively increase staking;

  • Fixed the issue of failing to increase storage space when the staking account and signing account were inconsistent;

  • Upgraded the p2p file transfer mechanism to provide more efficient data transfer services;

  • Fixed the issue of being unable to increase staking when the signing account and staking account were inconsistent;

  • Fixed the issue where idle random challenge proof could not be generated probabilistically when the storage node was in a specific state;

  • Fixed the issue where storage nodes could not prioritize using custom TEE Nodes to accelerate idle authentication;

  • Fixed the issue where storage nodes caused a significant increase in transaction fees due to repeatedly submitting failed transactions;

3. TEE Nodes [v0.7.8-venus]

  • Added security level checks and update functions to prevent potential key leakage issues;

  • Fixed the issue of being unable to verify block validity properly;

  • Fixed the issue where signatures could not be effectively parsed and verified due to an outdated codebase;

  • Fixed the issue where the blockchain state could not be synchronized quickly;

  • Added distributed deployment of the DCAP remote authentication server;

Products

CESS is committed to providing practical storage services and CD²N services for Web3, meeting large-scale commercial storage needs, achieving millisecond-level data retrieval and return. CESS pioneered decentralized object storage services (DeOSS), and the product ecosystem of the CESS network is gradually becoming richer and more prosperous. It has currently incubated innovative applications such as online file sharing tools (DeShare), public chain snapshot storage services, and CESS cloud storage. We welcome you to experience them. Here are the progress updates for this month:

1. Object Storage Service (DeOSS)

  • Completed the setup of the new official DeOSS node cluster;

  • Added a data fence function to meet users' special requirements regarding the geographical location of data storage;

  • Completed the introduction document for the working principle and incentive mechanism of CD²N;

  • Fixed the issue where abnormal network connections prevented normal user file uploads;

  • Fixed the issue where user file fragments could not be downloaded normally from remote storage nodes;

  • Fixed the issue where light cache nodes could not interact with working protocol smart contracts;

  • Fixed the issue where DeOSS could not upload files normally due to incorrect usage of the node selection module;

  • Improved the DeOSS documentation to adapt to the latest features after the DeOSS version update;

  • Completed the upgrade of the Rust SDK and documentation writing;

  • Fixed the issue where inconsistent return status codes prevented user videos from being played normally;

  • Fixed the issue of excessively high failure rates when uploading user file fragments to storage nodes;

  • Completed the architectural upgrade of the CESS CD²N cache nodes, enabling basic parallel computing capabilities;

  • Completed testing and related issue fixes for the static resource distribution function of CESS CD²N cache nodes;

2. Online File Sharing Tool (DeShare)

  • Fixed the issue where files larger than 100 MB could not be transferred;

  • Established a DeShare cluster for storing Docker images of storage nodes, resolving the issue of being unable to download images;

  • Completed the launch of the new version and migrated user files from the old version to the new testnet;

  • Fixed the issue where DeShare could not download user-uploaded files normally;

3. Official Website (cess.cloud)

  • Completed UI interface optimization for the introduction of the CESS network module on the homepage of the official website;

  • Completed the new version of the official website, user documentation, and token claiming service;

  • Improved the display details of the official website page content and updated the reference links;
