Harris wins Hawaii
ChainCatcher news, Harris has won 4 electoral votes from Hawaii. This marks the tenth consecutive time Hawaii has chosen a Democratic candidate for the presidential election.
The last time the state selected a Republican for the nation's highest office was 40 years ago, when Ronald Reagan won in 1984.
Hawaii is a solidly Democratic state, with the Democratic Party controlling all statewide elected offices and the state's two U.S. House seats. The Democrats have long held more than three-quarters of the seats in the state House and Senate. The Associated Press announced Harris's victory at 12:00 AM Eastern Time.
