Blockaid: About 59% of new tokens in 2024 are malicious in nature

ChainCatcher news, according to CoinDesk, the latest report from blockchain security company Blockaid shows that approximately 59% of newly issued tokens in 2024 are malicious in nature, with rug-pull scams accounting for 27% of the malicious tokens.

Additionally, data from Blockaid's on-chain detection and response (ODR) platform indicates that losses from cryptocurrency hacks and scams in 2024 have significantly decreased to $1.4 billion, a notable drop compared to the $5.6 billion loss reported by the FBI in 2023.
