Supporters of Yoon Suk-yeol chant Trump's catchphrase: Stop stealing

2025-01-03 16:57:51

ChainCatcher news, South Korea's investigation department today executed an arrest warrant for the impeached President Yoon Suk-yeol, and his supporters chanted Trump's slogan "Stop the Steal," expressing hope that the soon-to-be-inaugurated President Trump could help Yoon Suk-yeol.

On Friday, Yoon Suk-yeol's supporters gathered outside his residence, trying to prevent his arrest. Some held English signs reading "Stop the Steal," a slogan used by Trump and his supporters to question the results of the 2020 U.S. presidential election. "Invalid impeachment," some protesters shouted, while others waved American flags, a common sight in conservative protests in South Korea. Trump will begin his second term on January 21, and he has not commented on Yoon Suk-yeol's situation, with no clear connection between his campaign team and Yoon Suk-yeol's supporters. Trump has been impeached twice but was not convicted. (Jinshi)
