Seven gang members in the UK sentenced to prison for kidnapping a cryptocurrency investor

ChainCatcher news, according to Cointelegraph, the Manchester court in the UK has sentenced 7 gang members who kidnapped and extorted cryptocurrency investors.

These criminals kidnapped, assaulted, and threatened the victims multiple times between January and November 2023, extorting approximately £100,000 (about $124,000) in cryptocurrency.

Among them, Jonathan Newns and David Povey were both sentenced to 20 years in prison, while other members received sentences ranging from 13 years and 6 months to 2 years and 4 months.
