OpenAI: GPT-4 will be retired on April 30 and will be fully replaced by GPT-4o

ChainCatcher news, according to the update log released by OpenAI, starting from April 30, 2025, GPT-4 will be retired from ChatGPT and will be completely replaced by GPT-4o.

GPT-4o is OpenAI's newer native multimodal model, which consistently outperforms GPT-4 in writing, coding, STEM, and other areas in head-to-head evaluations. Recent upgrades have further improved GPT-4o's instruction following, problem-solving, and conversational flow capabilities. GPT-4 will still remain available in the API.
