The Slovenian proposal aims to tax personal income from cryptocurrencies
ChainCatcher news, according to Bloomberg, the Slovenian Ministry of Finance is seeking opinions on a proposal to impose a 25% tax on profits individuals earn from the disposal of crypto assets. The proposal was published on Thursday and aims to address gaps in the country's tax system, which currently taxes commercial income from crypto asset trading but exempts individuals from taxation when buying and selling crypto assets as investors.
The deadline for submitting opinions on the proposal is May 5. If approved by the parliament, it is expected to take effect on January 1, 2026.
