Coinbase will establish a new office in North Carolina and hire over 130 local employees

2025-04-23 20:05:44

ChainCatcher news, Coinbase announced that it will establish a new office in Charlotte, North Carolina, and plans to hire more than 130 local employees over the next six months, with positions mainly focused on compliance and customer support. A company spokesperson stated that the choice of Charlotte is due to the city's rise as a fintech hub, with its rapidly growing population and high-quality talent pool supporting Coinbase's long-term development. Notably, Coinbase still maintains a "remote-first" work model, with about 95% of employees able to choose to work from home or in a hybrid setup. This expansion aligns with the hiring plan announced by Coinbase CEO Brian Armstrong on March 7. Influenced by the pro-crypto policies of the Trump administration, the company plans to add approximately 1,000 positions nationwide this year, which would increase the total number of employees by 27%. However, the spokesperson emphasized that the expansion in Charlotte is primarily based on local talent advantages rather than political factors.
