The U.S. SEC will hold a roundtable on asset tokenization on May 12 to discuss the intersection of traditional finance and decentralized finance
According to ChainCatcher, the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) has announced that its cryptocurrency working group will hold a roundtable on May 12 titled "Tokenization ------ Asset on the Chain: The Intersection of Traditional Finance and Decentralized Finance."
Hester M. Peirce, the head of the SEC's cryptocurrency working group, stated that tokenization is a technological development that could fundamentally change many aspects of financial markets.
The meeting will take place from 1:00 PM to 5:30 PM Eastern Time on May 12 at the SEC headquarters in Washington, D.C., and will be open to the public and streamed live on the SEC's official website. Additionally, the SEC announced that the roundtable originally scheduled for June 6, titled "Decentralized Finance and the American Spirit," has been rescheduled to June 9.
