FCA appoints David Geale as Managing Director of Payments and Digital Finance

ChainCatcher news, according to Crowdfundinsider, the UK's Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) has appointed David Geale as the Executive Director of the Payment Systems Regulator (PSR), while also serving as the head of the Payments and Digital Finance department.

Geale has been acting as the Director of PSR since June 2024. He has worked at the FCA and its predecessor, the Financial Services Authority (FSA), for over 20 years, having served as the Director of Retail Banking and led several policy reforms, including the retail distribution review during Brexit. Recently, he has been responsible for developing the regulatory framework for crypto assets, savings rate policies, and mortgage market reform proposals.
