A month ago, bets in the futures market reflected that the likelihood of the Federal Reserve maintaining stable interest rates in the first half of this year was only one in five, as traders believed that chaotic trade policies would weaken the economy and force the Fed to respond with easing measures. Now, the futures market estimates that the probability of a rate cut before the end of June is about 90%.
