ChainCatcher news, Netflix has announced the launch of an 8-episode limited series titled "The Altruists" about the FTX scandal, produced by Higher Ground, the production company founded by former U.S. President Barack Obama and Michelle Obama.

The series tells the story of two young idealists who attempt to rapidly reshape the global financial system, ultimately getting caught up in a conspiracy to misappropriate approximately $8 billion. As a result, FTX founder Sam Bankman-Fried was sentenced to 25 years in prison, and former Alameda Research CEO Caroline Ellison was sentenced to 2 years.
