ChainCatcher news, according to U.S. Trade Representative Tai, the scope of Section 301 tariff measures can be expanded as needed.

Section 301 refers to the entirety of Sections 1301-1310 of the Trade Act of 1974, which primarily means protecting U.S. rights in international trade and retaliating against countries deemed to have "unreasonable" or "unfair" trade practices.

Under this provision, the U.S. can investigate trade practices of other countries that it considers "unfair," and can consult with the governments of those countries, ultimately leading to a decision by the President to impose retaliatory measures such as raising tariffs, restricting imports, or terminating relevant agreements.
