ChainCatcher news, according to official sources, the USDT issuer Tether has announced a strategic investment in the African blockchain financial platform Shiga Digital, with the specific amount undisclosed.

It is reported that Shiga Digital provides virtual accounts, over-the-counter trading services, fund management, and foreign exchange (FX) services for African businesses.

This collaboration will address the long-standing challenges of cross-border payments and global liquidity access faced by African enterprises through a USDT-based blockchain financial infrastructure. Both parties will support the funding and foreign exchange management of traditional industries such as oil and gas within and outside Africa, and help independent contractors easily access foreign currency and global payment services.
