Trump: Will send letters to trade partners in the next one to two weeks to set unilateral tariff rates
ChainCatcher news, according to Jin10, U.S. President Trump stated that he intends to send a letter to trade partners setting unilateral tariff rates within the next one to two weeks before the July 9 deadline for tariff suspension arrives. Trump told reporters, "At a certain point, we will send a letter. I think you all understand, this is the agreement, you can accept it or not."
It is currently unclear whether Trump will follow through on his promise, as he often sets two-week deadlines for action but ultimately delays or takes no action at all. When asked if he would extend the deadline for countries to reach agreements with the U.S. government, Trump expressed an open attitude but added, "I don't think we have that necessity."
