ChainCatcher news, according to Jinshi reports, a key Republican negotiator stated that Republican senators are considering setting the state and local tax (SALT) deduction limit at $30,000 as a compromise between the current law and the more generous limit in the House version of the Trump tax plan.

Moderate Republican Senator Thom Tillis, who is involved in the negotiations, stated that Republican senators are trying to lower the $40,000 SALT limit passed by the House to at least $30,000.
