Australian financial advisor banned for ten years due to involvement in cryptocurrency fraud
ChainCatcher news, the Australian Securities and Investments Commission (ASIC) announced a ten-year industry ban on former financial advisor Glenda Rogan. Investigations revealed that the advisor transferred at least AUD 14.8 million of client funds to a cryptocurrency investment scam during her tenure at Fincare Group from March 2022 to June 2023.
ASIC pointed out that Rogan engaged in serious misconduct while working as an accountant and financial advisor in the Sutherland and Wollongong areas of Sydney. The regulator emphasized that this penalty aims to warn financial professionals to adhere to ethical standards.
