Sources: Israel carried out a "deception operation" that surprised Iran
ChainCatcher news, according to CNN, an Israeli official stated that Israel conducted a so-called "deception operation" days before launching an unprecedented attack, aimed at convincing Iranian leaders and the Israeli public that an attack would not occur.
The official said that this operation included "deception" towards the media and political commentators, "thus successfully surprising Iran." They indicated that the plan had only "a few secret partners," and the office of Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu issued announcements and briefings intended to influence discourse in Iran and Israel. Despite the obvious actions, U.S. intelligence agencies warned that Israel was about to launch an attack.
