The U.S. prosecutor filed a motion to prevent Tornado Cash co-founder Roman Storm from appearing as an expert witness
ChainCatcher news, according to Protos, U.S. prosecutors have filed a motion to prevent expert witnesses for Tornado Cash founder Roman Storm from testifying. The prosecutors claim they are "Trojan horses" that would waste the jury's time and confuse jurors' understanding of privacy, token economics, and KYC. This means that Roman Storm's defense team needs more time to respond to a large volume of documents attempting to eliminate eight defense arguments, and the prosecutors even opposed extending the time by two days.
In addition, there are reports that the U.S. Department of Justice has dropped the "unlicensed money transmission" charges against Roman Storm and no longer refers to Tornado Cash as a "financial institution," but retains the money laundering charges. It is reported that Roman Storm's trial is expected to begin on July 14 in New York, with support expressed from Vitalik and the Ethereum Foundation.
