Israeli media reports that Israel has relaxed the conditions for hostage exchanges
ChainCatcher news, according to a report by Jinshi citing Israeli media Mako News, Israel has submitted a revised proposal in negotiations with Hamas regarding hostages, suggesting a possible opening for a temporary ceasefire.
The new proposal reportedly includes: Hamas releasing 8 Israeli hostages on the first day of the ceasefire, followed by the release of 2 more hostages after a 20-30 day ceasefire (previously, the plan was to release 10 hostages on the first day of the ceasefire and all hostages after 60 days). Hamas had previously rejected the second phase of hostage release after a 60-day ceasefire due to concerns that Israel might resume operations in the interim. Israel's new proposal aims to address this concern, although it remains unclear whether it is sufficient to restart formal negotiations.
As of now, no Israeli delegation has been sent to Cairo or Doha, indicating that the agreement is still in the preliminary draft stage. Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu confirmed in an interview with Fox News on Sunday that "some progress has been made," and stated, "The prolongation of the war is due to the hostages. I am committed to rescuing all of them."
