Analyst: The Federal Reserve may keep interest rates unchanged throughout the summer
ChainCatcher news, Paul Eitelman, an analyst at Russell Investments, pointed out in a report that the Federal Reserve may keep interest rates unchanged throughout the summer due to the impact of tariffs and geopolitical risks.
The global chief investment strategist stated, "Fed Chairman Powell may remain vigilant about the risks posed by tariffs and the emerging conflicts in the Middle East." He noted that the Fed believes tariffs pose a downside risk to the economy, but this weakness has not yet manifested in the data, while inflation remains stable. Eitelman said, "We expect one, possibly two rate cuts by the end of this year."
