Data: Russia's cryptocurrency holdings exceed 25.4 billion USD

GIS Mining CEO Vasily Girya stated at the 2025 St. Petersburg International Economic Forum that by the end of the first half of 2025, the value of cryptocurrency assets held by Russians has exceeded 2 trillion rubles (approximately 25.4 billion USD).
Girya emphasized that institutional investors' interest in cryptocurrencies, particularly Bitcoin mining, has significantly increased, with major investors expanding their digital currency portfolios by increasing orders to industrial mining operators. Russian institutional investors are leveraging the country's abundant energy resources to drive large-scale mining operations, a strategy that not only maximizes resource utilization but also aims to enhance Russia's position in the global crypto economy.
