Trump's envoy optimistic prediction: A ceasefire agreement between Israel and Hamas may be reached "within days."
ChainCatcher news, according to the Times of Israel, Palestinian-American businessman Bashar al-Bahaba, who has been mediating between the Trump administration and Hamas, stated that an agreement for a ceasefire in Gaza and the release of hostages could be reached "within days." Al-Bahaba, who is conducting regional mediation with Egypt and Qatar, expressed optimism about the prospects of a (Israel-Hamas ceasefire) agreement during an interview, noting that the ceasefire between Israel and Hamas has brought the Gaza issue back to the forefront of the regional agenda. However, a senior diplomat from an Arab country revealed that Israel's refusal to commit to permanently ending the war has tempered this optimism.
The diplomat pointed out that Israel has only proposed a phased release of hostages during a temporary ceasefire, but the order of release is not the key issue hindering the agreement.
