ChainCatcher News: The U.S. Department of Justice announced the dismantling of the largest healthcare fraud scheme in history, with 324 defendants charged, involving over $14.6 billion in false claims. These defendants include 96 doctors, nurses, pharmacists, and other healthcare professionals, spread across 50 federal districts and 12 state attorney general's offices.

This operation also seized over $245 million in cash, cryptocurrencies, luxury cars, and other assets, while the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) prevented over $4 billion in fraudulent payments by suspending or revoking the billing privileges of 205 providers.

The case involving the "Golden Action" accounts for $10.6 billion in fraudulent amounts and is linked to organized crime in Russia, Estonia, and Kazakhstan. Attorney General Pamela Bondi stated that there will be a zero-tolerance approach to criminal activities that exploit the Medicare system for profit.
