OpenAI poached four senior engineers from Tesla, xAI, and Meta
ChainCatcher news, according to Wired, the artificial intelligence research company OpenAI has poached four senior engineers from competitors Tesla, xAI, and Meta to join its expansion team. The new engineers include former Tesla Vice President of Software Engineering David Lau, former xAI Head of Infrastructure Engineering Uday Ruddarraju, xAI Infrastructure Engineer Mike Dalton, and Meta AI researcher Angela Fan.
OpenAI spokesperson Hannah Wong stated, "We are excited to welcome these new members to our expansion team. Our approach is to continue building and bringing together world-class infrastructure, research, and product teams to accelerate our mission and bring the benefits of AI to billions of people." The addition of these new employees comes at a time when competition for talent and resources among major players in the AI field is intensifying.
