ChainCatcher news, according to CoinDesk citing the Financial Times, European fintech company Revolut is in talks for a $1 billion funding round led by American investment firm Greenoaks, with a valuation reaching $65 billion, a 44% increase from last year's secondary market valuation. The funding will be completed through a combination of new share issuance and the sale of existing shares, with final terms yet to be determined.
Recently, the company launched Bitcoin Lightning Network payment functionality for European users and continues to expand its cryptocurrency services. CEO Nik Storonsky's compensation package is linked to the company's valuation, with a substantial bonus triggered if the valuation reaches $150 billion. Greenoaks has previously invested in tech companies like Robinhood and Stripe.
