Recently, Trump has placed loyalists on the National Capital Planning Commission (NCPC)------the commission has the authority to oversee federal building design matters. A senior White House official hinted that the Fed's changes to the building violate the relevant laws governing the NCPC. The Fed's Office of Inspector General had previously reviewed this long-term planning project, but this review aims to reassess it amid increased regulatory scrutiny.
