ChainCatcher news, according to Coinbase's official statement, starting from July 21, 2025, U.S. users will be able to trade CFTC-regulated perpetual futures through the Capital Financial Market (CFM), marking the entry of this globally largest derivative type onto the platform.

Coinbase stated that for many years, U.S. cryptocurrency traders could only watch as their international counterparts used one of the most popular tools in the digital asset market—perpetual futures. This type of innovative derivative offers higher leverage and eliminates the need to deal with monthly expiration dates, accounting for 90% of global cryptocurrency trading volume. Due to the complex regulatory environment, U.S. traders have been unable to participate. But this situation is about to change.
